Dr Javaid graduated in 1987 and has been working as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in NHS since 2001, currently based in Bedford Hospital. Aside from delivering and developing Gastroenterology service throughout his career, he has also been very committed to Medical Training and Education. He successfully completed a Diploma in Medical  Education from Newcastle University in 2010 whilst working as a full-time Consultant. He also acts as an examiner for postgraduate examinations on behalf of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom.  He is involved with research and had presented in national and international conferences on multiple occasions. He was also a team member responsible for winning Hospital Doctor National Award in Acute Care Category in 2007.

He is clinical lead for Inflammatory Bowel Disease Service in Bedford and is an endoscopy trainer.He also leads Wireless colon Capsule Colonoscopy Service..Dr Javaid is accredited Bowel Cancer Screener. He acts as Deputy Director of Research and Development.

Dr Javaid is Fellow of Royal College of Physicians , London and Member of British Society of Gastroenterology as well as British Medical Association.
